PEPPERCRN
Three real, colour-graded peppercorns — black, green, and pink — standing in for the Drill, Socratic, and Issue Spot modes
1L TO THE BAR, BUILT FROM YOUR OWN MATERIAL

Your outline. Not someone else's.

Paste your own notes, a rule statement, or a class outline — Peppercorn turns it into MBE-style questions, IRAC essays, flashcards, and a Socratic cold-call that won't let you get away with almost knowing it. No fixed question bank standing between you and what you're actually confused about.

Eight modes, one source of material

Every way to drill a doctrine into your head

Pick a mode, paste what you're studying or pick a subject chip, and get practice built on exactly that — not a generic bank of questions someone else picked.

I

The Drill

MBE-style multiple choice with a detailed explanation for every choice, right and wrong.

II

Socratic

Cold-call interrogation that pushes past a surface-level answer until it's actually reflexive.

III

Issue Spot

IRAC essay grading, plus a California Performance Test practice mode with real File + Library structure.

IV

Cue Cards

Timed black-letter flashcards for the rules you should be able to rattle off cold.

V

Create Your Outline

A per-subject black-letter outline, guided by your own syllabus — export as PDF or Word.

VI

Practice Sets

Adaptive sets that weight toward whatever subject you've actually been weakest on.

VII

Simulation

A full timed practice exam across the real MBE subject-weight blueprint.

VIII

The Docket

Spaced-repetition review queue, full history, and weak-area tracking by subject.

From your first cold call to the bar

Follows you through law school, then through the exam

Every mode adapts its prompts and subject list to whichever track you're on — same engine, whether that's Tuesday's Contracts reading or six months out from the bar.

The honest part

Peppercorn's questions, model answers, and outlines are generated by AI. They're built to be accurate and exam-realistic, but AI can be wrong — including on points of black-letter law. Use it to drill and stress-test your understanding, not as your only source of truth. It isn't affiliated with the NCBE, any state bar, or any law school.

Questions

Before you hand over your email

Is the content actually accurate?

Every question, model answer, and outline is generated by AI, and AI can get black-letter law wrong. It's built to be exam-realistic and correct, but treat it as a drilling tool, not a substitute for your casebook, your professor, or a bar-accredited course.

Does this replace Barbri, Themis, or my bar prep course?

No. Peppercorn is a practice and drilling layer that runs on your own notes, outlines, and class material — it's not a structured bar review course or a substitute for your law school curriculum. Most people would use it alongside one, not instead of one.

What does it cost?

Pricing hasn't been finalized yet. Waitlist members will be the first to see it and get early access before it's open to everyone.

When does it launch?

There's no fixed date yet — that's what the waitlist is for. We'll email you the moment a spot opens.

Is my data used to train AI models?

The notes, fact patterns, or outlines you submit are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate that one response, and aren't saved into Peppercorn's own database beyond the specific attempt you generate. Full breakdown on our Privacy page.

Is Peppercorn affiliated with the NCBE, a state bar, or my law school?

No. It's an independent practice tool, not affiliated with the NCBE, any state bar, the Law Society of Ontario, or any law school.
